Futures and options contracts on Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) will complement and enhance the transparency and liquidity of the existing over-the-counter (OTC) based spot and forward markets which support the Mandatory Renewable Energy Target (MRET) scheme and expanded national Renewable Energy Target (RET).
Victorian wholesale gas futures, strip futures products and calendar year strip options will enable firms to better manage their market risks.
Electricity futures and options for two grid reference points in the New Zealand electricity market will enable firms to better manage their price and counter-party exposures.
The electricity futures and options market operated by ASX underpins price discovery and risk transfer in the forward markets for electricity bought and sold in the National Electricity Market (NEM).
