Antipodes launch new global fund

About Antipodes Partners

Antipodes Partners is a global asset manager offering a pragmatic value approach founded in 2015 by Jacob Mitchell, formerly Deputy Chief Investment Officer of Platinum Asset Management, together with a number of former colleagues and like-minded value investors.

Antipodes Partners aspires to grow client wealth over the long-term by generating absolute returns in excess of the benchmark, at below market levels of risk. We seek to take advantage of the market’s tendency for irrational extrapolation, identify investments that offer a high margin of safety and build portfolios with a capital preservation focus.

Antipodes Partners is majority owned by its seasoned investment team and its performance culture is underpinned by sensible incentives, a focused offering and the outsourcing of non-investment functions to minority partner Pinnacle Investment Management Limited.

The Fund

The Antipodes Global Fund invests in a select number of attractively valued companies listed on global share markets (usually a minimum of 30 long holdings) with typical net equity exposure of 50-100%. Equity shorts and currency positions may be used to take advantage of attractive opportunities, offset specific unwanted portfolio risks and provide some protection from negative tail risks. Derivatives may also be used to amplify high conviction ideas.

Fund features:

  • To seek capital growth and income via exposure to global stocks, predominantly comprised of long and short positions, that will be actively managed with a focus on capital preservation; and
  • To achieve returns in excess of the benchmark, MSCI All Country World Net Index in AUD, over the investment cycle (typically 3 -5 years).
