As Australia’s only data centre developed specifically for financial markets, the Australian Liquidity Centre (ALC) is the fabric which brings together a diverse community of counterparties. This state of the art colocation facility creates unique opportunities for customers by connecting them directly to the financial markets and each other.
This Tier III designed data centre houses over 100 financial organisations including Buy and Sell Side Firms, Alternative Liquidity Venues, Independent Software Vendors as well as Infrastructure and Network Service Providers.
The ALC peer to peer network facilitates collaboration and partnership through cross connects to counterparties, enabling buy-side firms to connect to multiple sell side firms and connecting organisations to specialist vendors.
As ASX operates its primary markets and post-trade platforms from the ALC, colocation brings customers directly into the financial markets with reduced complexity. ALC members receive the most secure and fastest possible access to ASX data and platforms: ASX Trade Match, ASX Center Point and ASX 24.
ALC customers can also syncronise their systems to the same time signal used to set the clocks on ASX and ASX24 platforms, ensuring alignment with financial markets.

As a carrier-neutral data centre, customers can connect to external sites via their preferred provider or ASX’s high performance optical fibre network ASX Net.
As the ALC is home to ASX’s trading platforms, the highest levels of security are a priority. The Tier III designed data centre is guarded by 24/7 onsite security with biometric access, over 120 CCTV cameras, thermal imaging, proximity sensors and an electronic locking system for all cabinets.
ASX’s core function as a market operator provides assured access to secured power to support ASX platforms and colocated customers. Uninterrupted power supply delivered via the DRUPS system, the latest VESDA fire protection technology combined with robust monitoring and testing, ensures minimum downtime for our clients.
Technical and Operations teams occupy the onsite Customer Support Centre (CSC) and Flight Deck offering expert assistance 24x7x365. Remote hands services provided onsite range from basic goods receiving, rack-n-stack all the way to certified network and server engineering technicians.
