Please select Yes if your organisation is categorized as an investment product issuer – e.g. issuer of securities in these categories – ETFs, structured products, warrants, managed funds, mFund.  Otherwise your organisation will be considered a ‘corporate’ for the purposes of subscription fee calculations. The default answer to this question is ‘No’.

A user will not be able to select ‘Yes’ for both listed investment company and investment product categories.

Enter the number of HINs you estimate are currently maintained in CHESS for your organisation. HIN stands for Holder Identification Number and represents an investor account held in CHESS. Your share registry can advise you of the number of CHESS HINs on your register. The number of HINs (at the end of each month) is used to calculate the subscription fee.  Please refer to section 2.2.2 of the Issuer Services: New Pricing Discussion Paper for an explanation of how ASX will count HINs for the purposes of the subscription fee calculation.

Please enter the number of statements that you estimate will be issued during the period selected. You may check past ASX invoices to ascertain an estimate of the number.  The default answer to this question is ‘0’. This number should include both paper and electronic statements.

Please enter a number to represent the expected percentage of statements that will be issued electronically - between 0 and 100.  The option to select delivery of electronic CHESS holding statements has been made available to investors since 13 December 2021. ASX has confirmed it will not charge issuers for the issue of electronic statements. The holding statement fee is for the issuance of paper statements only.  The default answer to this question is ‘0’.

Please answer ‘Yes’ if you estimate that on average the annual ratio of CHESS holding statements provided to investors to the number of HINs is less than 1.0 times. This category of entities may be eligible for a fee discount (see below). The default answer to this question is ‘No’.  The number of CHESS holding statements for the purposes of this calculation should include both paper and electronic statements. 

Please enter an estimate of the number of adjustments that will be made during the period.  An adjustment means a change to a holder’s holding (1 count per holder per security class) as a result of the issue and allocation of securities for activities such as dividend reinvestment plan, security purchase plans, renounceable issues, placements and other security adjustments, issue or redemption of units for managed funds.  Your share registry may provide you with guidance on a typical number. The count of holding adjustments is based on the number of CHESS EIS 421 or 425 messages sent by a share registry to CHESS on an issuer’s behalf. The default answer to this question is ‘0’. If you select ‘annual’ and enter a number for Holding Adjustments, the calculator will divide that number by twelve to determine a monthly fee, then add the twelve monthly fees to provide an annual fee estimate.

If you are using figures from invoices issued prior to July 2022 product code 04900225, ASX notes this figure may also include 512 messages. As a general guide, use 20% of this historic count for fees effective post 1 July 2022. The volume of 512 messages (now included in subscription fee) on average represented 80% of volume under product code 04900225.

The fee calculator will take into account a discount of 25% that will be provided to the following categories of issuers:

• Issuers who are ‘low velocity users’. A low velocity user is an issuer that has an annual ratio of CHESS holding statements provided to its investors to the number of HINs of less than 1.0 times. This discount will only apply to existing ‘low velocity users’ issuers as at 30 June 2022. New issuers established in CHESS after 30 June 2022 will not qualify; or
• Listed Investment Companies and Listed Investment Trusts (LICs). These entities are listed via the ASX admission criteria of “+investment entity”.

For the avoidance of doubt, an issuer that is both a ‘LIC’ and a ‘low velocity user’ will receive a discount of 25%, and not two discounts of 25%.  For those issuers who are eligible to receive the discount, the 25% discount will be calculated on the total amount of CHESS holding statement fees, and subscription fees only.

Once you have provided answers to the questions, a summary estimate of the applicable fees, including CHESS holding statement fee, subscription fee and holding adjustment fee (the “Estimate of fees”) will be provided in the table.  A  breakdown of gross fee, any discount applicable and net fee (following application of any discount) will be provided for an annual period. The table will also provide a net fee estimate for monthly fees.  Please note all estimates are exclusive of GST. Note, the Estimate of fees is specific to these fee types only and does not include all potentially applicable fees for issuers.
