Investing in warrants

Learn more about the features, risks and benefits of investing in warrants

What are warrants?

Warrants are a form of derivative, which means they derive their value from something else (an underlying instrument). Some give holders the right to buy or to sell an underlying instrument (such as a share) for a set price. Others, such as index warrants, entitle you to a cash payment based on the value of the underlying instrument at a particular time.
