Lots to learn for both new and experienced investors.
ASX Investor Day is the premier retail-focused educational event on the ASX Investment Products calendar.
Held twice annually at capital cities around Australia, May 2021 will see the ASX Investor Day roadshow in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney (see event dates at end of this story).
Following a brief hiatus in 2020, the ASX team and event partners are thrilled to be hosting the event in person again. The Sydney event will be live-streamed online, so those who cannot attend in person can still be part of that event.
ASX Investor Day is a full day action-packed event where you will hear from some of the sharpest minds in the financial services industry.
Catering to investors of all levels of knowledge and experience, from those that are just starting out to investors with a long-held passion for personal finance, ASX Investor Day aims to provide you with skills and knowledge that can be applied to your own situation.
There is a blend of sessions with topics of general interest such as the macro-economic outlook, as well as separate streams for new and experienced investors.
New investors can discover ways of investing small amounts of money and how best to construct a diversified portfolio.
Experienced investors can learn how to avoid yield traps when investing for income, as well as technical tips for maximising the flexibility and control of having a Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF).
Navigating volatile markets
This year’s ASX Investor Day event will incorporate key themes that aim to help investors as they navigate the challenging market conditions in Australia and around the globe, and also to educate investors as they plan where to invest in the future.
There will also be discussions about learnings from the recent periods of record sharemarket volatility, to equip investors to capitalise on future opportunities.
Leading industry experts will join ASX at the event to share their knowledge and outlook on themes and topics such as:
- Technology trends - and how to invest in them
- Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) – explaining the basics through to how ETFs can be used to diversify an investment portfolio and access growth and income sectors and strategies
- Investing in a low-rate environment – how to garner income through an investment portfolio in today’s economic conditions
- The Buy Hold or Sell presentation – where Adam Dawes of Shaw and Partners will provide his analysis on the top Australian stocks as selected by event attendees on the day. This presentation is a perennial favourite at ASX Investor Day each year.
First-time event attendees and returning guests can expect an entertaining, enjoyable and information-packed day, guided by the event’s long-serving, crowd favourite MC - Ian Irvine, carefully curated panels of experts and individual presenters. The event promises to help investors on their journey to creating their own positive financial future.
